I recently did an interview with a magazine that is going to be running a feature on me and my work, and one of the questions I was asked was who inspires me and my work. After much consideration and thought i realised that much of my inspiration comes from outside of the photography world with more art world leanings, not so much from a visual perspective, but in the creative thought processes. I can't say if this directly influences my photography, but assume it must do in some subconcious way! The people I listed as my inspirations were as follows (In no particular order):
Salvador Dali (Surrealist Artist)
David Hockney (Artist & Photographer)
Trey Ratcliffe (HDR Photographer)
Mark Wilkinson (Album Cover Artist & Artist)
So i throw the question over to you....who inspires you and your work? and does it affect your work? Am interested to find out your thoughts on the matter, and hopefully discover creatives I am not aware of.
Scott
My inspirations are the many photographers I have met on Vero but Bill Brandt (https://www.billbrandt.com/) and Steve McCurry (http://stevemccurry.com/) are my 'heroes'.
